Simona Calvani, aka Dj Red, is a Rome-Berlin-based DJ producer. Her 11 years as a resident artist at the Goa Club, Rome's most underground dance venue, helped her to identify herself with a unique blend of sensual yet dark electronic music. She regularly works alongside some of the finest names in the undergroud dance music scene in Rome, Berlin, Barcelona and London. They include Ricardo Villalobos, Ellen Allien, Sven Vath, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Cassy,Miss Kittin and many others. Tracks from the first one, "Silk or Metal" Ep were included in the popular "Green and Blue" compilation, released by Cocoon and Mixmag magazine. 2006 Her second Ep "Silk or Metal" vol2 Unpolite records UNP 003 Red's latest release,2008 " The Fresh Flesh" Ep, included "Fresh", a track that was included in the "Amore festival", a compilation produced by Unpolite and distribute by Sony. Dj Red is currently DJing at the Goa Club in Rome . After living in London for a while, she ‘s recently moved to Berlin... and from earlier this year 2012 has joined BPitch Control, the historic Berlin-based label.
