History

Basswalk Records (U.S.A.), was founded April 10th, 2002 by Miami’s music executive; Toby Holguin under the distribution of Inversus Records.

From its beginnings, it managed to grow rapidly into the scene by Basswalk Records having participation in the Ultra Music Festival Miami editions 3, 4, and 5 with their own stage. It has been distributed by the Universal/Vivendi Music Group and nowadays, after working many years with HousePlanet.uk, it has started a new cycle as a Beatport exclusive label through Baseware Distribution with Gabriel Guallart as Label Manager and Monica Alamo as head A&R.

In more than 10 years of greatly diverse underground music, many distinguished artists of the likes of; Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Dubfire, Paco Osuna, Luciano, Butch, David Herrero, Stefano Noferini, Pig&Dan, Gary Beck, Re Us, Maetrik, Hermanez, Nima Gorji, Someone Else, Marc Antona, Nexus DJ & Mon, Onno, Sasha Carassi, Stacey Pullen, Angel Moraes, Austin Leeds, Benz & MD, Chus & Ceballos, Toby Holguin, Ashbury & Haight, Ronan Portela, Habersham, Jay Tripwire, Lemon 8, Luke Fair, Oliver Berger, Pole Folder, Remy Unger, Kabale Und Liebe, have contributed with their music and support, redefining the label to its authenticity, well rooted where it all began.

Basswalk is also involved in night club projects like in La Sala, La Pola, Cerati Club, BackDoor Club and currently in Bora Bora Ibiza where Toby holds his worldwide night “From the INside OUT”.

Studio Room

Bass Walk Studios offers TDM Protools, Reason, and Logic on Envision double screens run by a G4 Mac / G5 Mac. Hardware compressors in the studio include the ISA 430 Focusrite and the Platinum Penta Focusrite.

Killer Synths include Minimoog-Voyager, Waldorf Q, Orbit 3, Proteus 2000, Roland JP-8000, Oxygen 8, Micro Korg-Synthetizer Vocoder. many virtual synths, and the TDM plug-ins. Speakers are powered by Yamaha.

Recording Room

Bass Walk Studios is equipped with the finest isolation and noise reduction components. Mics include the Neumann TLM 103, Senheiser MD 421, Audio Technica 4033a, Senheiser 441U3, and Audio Technica AP 901. The digital console is the Yamaha O2R 24 Digital 24 Channel mixer. Marshall JCM 800 Series to record the variety of Fender, Gibson, and Washburn guitars. Electric Bass is model Ibanez SD-GR. Percussion instruments are Matador Congas and bongos, plus many percussion effects. Live recording of dj’s mixes into the Protools for professional edited mixes.
